Negotiating Your Salary

Potential Employees Salary Negotiations
The initial salary you are offered is based on three criteria: position range, your years of credited experience, and step placement. Position range is determined by the responsibilities found in the job description. Range A is the lowest; Range E is the highest. There are 25 steps in each range. Step one is the lowest salary within a range; Step 25 is the highest.

ASF position candidates are credited for prior years of service in equal or higher level positions in ASF or the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system. You also receive credit for years of experience as calculated by the Human Resources office based previous and relevant employment details found on your CV. For this reason, it is very important that your CV is up-to-date and highly detailed when you apply for an ASF position.  It is helpful to list your dates of employment as accurately as possible. Your years of ASF or Minnesota State experience and your years of creditable experience will determine the offered salary step within your range assignment.
